David H. King is an Associate with the Firm, and handles a wide array of both litigation and transactional matters. As a Deputy City Prosecutor, Mr. King oversees Code Enforcement prosecution, working with law enforcement and advocating in court on behalf of the firm's city clients to ensure compliance with city municipal codes. In addition, Mr. King's litigation experience includes cases involving writs of mandate, the Ralph M. Brown Act, conflicts of interest, and Anti-SLAPP.
As a Deputy City Attorney for several cities, Mr. King works closely with governmental agencies, officials, and staff members, and has counseled officials and staff members on matters such as the California Public Records Act, California Election Law, and Jessica's Law. In addition, Mr. King has successfully represented public clients in administrative hearings, and has assisted City officials prepare and implement local initatives.
Prior to joining Alvarez-Glasman & Colvin in 2006 as a law clerk, Mr. King interned at the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office in the Neighborhood Council Advice Division.
Mr. King holds a J.D. from Loyola Law School. While in law school, Mr. King was elected as the Editor-in-Chief of the Loyola of Los Angeles International & Comparative Law Review and he was a published author. Mr. King volunteered at Loyola's Center For Conflict Resolution, helping to resolve disputes as a trained student mediator. Prior to law school, Mr. King attended the University of California, Los Angeles where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in Political Science.
Mr. King grew up in Ventura County, and became involved in local government by serving on his hometown's Parks & Recreation Commission as a student representative.
